The Ashanti Regional Police Command has suspended Police Inspector Bright Appiah Dankwah from the Asuoyeboah Police Station due to his purported involvement in a robbery incident targeting a mobile money vendor in Kumasi.
The suspect was apprehended by the Ashanti Regional Anti-Robbery Unit as a result of intelligence-driven operations.
A search executed at his residences resulted in the recovery of a Bruni Mod. 92 gas pistol, ammunition, and cash totaling GHS 9,835.00.
On May 11, 2026, the suspect was brought before the Atasemanso Circuit Court and was remanded into police custody.
He is scheduled to reappear on May 29, 2026.
In a statement issued by Deputy Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, on Monday, May 11, 2026, the Command confirmed that investigations are still in progress.
