A recent tracking poll carried out by Global InfoAnalytics has indicated that the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, possesses a slight advantage over former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in a prospective presidential contest for 2028.
The survey reveals that Asiedu Nketia enjoys 50% of voter backing, while Dr. Bawumia closely trails with 45%.
The remaining 5% of participants expressed a preference for an alternative candidate.
These results imply a highly competitive contest between the two political titans, with the NDC leader surpassing the NPP’s 2024 flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia, by a mere five percentage points.
This poll introduces a new element to the shifting political dynamics as both the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition NDC initiate early strategies in preparation for the 2028 general elections.
Global InfoAnalytics emphasized that the narrow margins underscore the potential for a fiercely contested election should this matchup occur.
