The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has formally extended an invitation to President John Dramani Mahama to attend the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
As stated in a release from the Presidency, the funeral is scheduled to occur at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi from September 15 to 18, 2025.
The invitation was conveyed to President Mahama in Accra by a distinguished delegation led by the Amoamanhene, Nana Agyenim Boateng I.
In his response, President Mahama conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene and the entire Ashanti Kingdom, characterizing the death of Nana Konadu Yiadom III as a significant loss.
He further assured the delegation of his intention to attend the ceremony to pay tribute to the memory of the late Queen Mother.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who was 98 years old, passed away on August 7, 2025.
